Aberlour 12 Double Cask
The very first single malt whisky for the most of the whisky-fans is definitely Glenfiddich 12. In my case, it looked a bit different. Someone gave me a dram of that Glenfiddich and I was indeed impressed, but not enough to buy a bottle or to start the Adventure with whisky.
Aberlour 12 Double Cask
The first single malt i bought for me was the Aberlour 12 Double Cask. I knew what I was doing. Today, I still remember where I got it (and I also know its price). Oh, it was well-spent money.

Tasting notes
Nose: cinnamon, caramel, cloves, dried plums, pears, leather, peaches, very distinct Sherry influence. 21/25
Palate: very clear. Bitter chocolate, plum jam, caramel, semi-sweet wine, ripe bananas, blackcurrant, honey. Alcohol is well hidden. 21/ 25
Finish: prunes, raisins, cappuccino, liqueur peaches, chocolate. Very pleasant, but a bit short. 20/25
Balance: It’s a little bit difficult for me to be objective, because I feel a huge sentiment towards this Whisky. It was my first Single Malt I’d tried. I always liked it … and it hasn’t change until today. Great Speysider. 21/25
Overall: 83/100
Other reviewers marks:
Serge (2015): 84/100
Ralfy (2017): 83/100
Price: About 30-35€, but I saw once in Lidl in Poland for the price of 26€. Great opportunity.
