Old Ballantruan The Peated Malt

There is no distillery called Old Ballantruan. Just as there are no Longrow or Hazelburn distilleries, which we can easily find as single malt whiskies. Both are produced by Springbank – a wonderful distillery from Campbeltown. We have the same situation here. Old Ballantruan is a heavily peated whisky, produced by a distillery, which is rather known for its delicate, unpeated sweet-fruity-wine’y style, typical for the Scotland’s region called Speyside. Destylarnię Tomintoul w obecnej formie wybudowano w 1965 roku, choć gorzelnia o tej nazwie istniała już w latach 30. XIX wieku. Firma wielokrotnie zmieniała właściciela i odnosiła większe lub mniejsze sukcesy. Obecnie destylarnia w pełni wykorzystuje swoje moce produkcyjne. 3 miliony litrów alkoholu rocznie i ponad 100 tysięcy beczek robi wrażenie. Old Ballantruan The Peated Malt

Nie istnieje destylarnia o nazwie Old Ballantruan. Tak samo, jak nie ma gorzelni Longrow czy Hazelburn, które, jako Single Malty, spokojnie możemy znaleźć, a produkowane są przez Springbank – cudowną gorzelnię z Campbeltown.

Tak samo jest tutaj. Old Ballantruan to whisky mocno torfowa, a produkowana jest przez destylarnię, która raczej znana jest z delikatnych, słodko-owocowo-winnych klimatów, typowych dla regionu, w którym jest zlokalizowana.
